Sunday 11th October ’09 - Trinity 18 - Intercessions

Amos 5:6-7; 10-15

Heb 4:12-16

Mk 10:17-31

For the Whole Church:
Father, we pray for the welfare of your Catholic Church and for the whole community of baptised.
Give us strength to imitate the first disciples in following your Son for the sake of the Gospel.
Lord, hear us.

For Queen and Country:

Father, guard and strengthen your servant Elizabeth, the Queen.

Safeguard the wellbeing and unity of this Nation.

Direct the work of Parliament and of the ministers of the Crown. May they order all things in equity to the glory of your Name. Lord, hear us.

For the Sick and Needy:

Father, we pray for those who are suffering in body, mind or spirit; for those who are affected by incurable illnesses and the bereft. In your Son we have a compassionate high priest, so through him help us in our afflictions. Lord, hear us.

For SSH:

Father, we pray for the work of this House, for an increase of vocations to the Ordained Ministry and for faithfulness to our own particular calling. Lord, hear us.

For the Departed:

Father, we commend to you all those who have left this life. Particularly we pray for those who have nurtured our vocations and our benefactors.

Eternal rest grant unto them, o Lord, and light perpetual shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.

Final Prayer:

Father, we boldly approach your throne of grace. Hear the prayers of our hearts and come to the aid of your children as we lay before you our worries and hopes in a moment of silence.
